1. PURPOSE
This document sets forth policy for retaining, through appropriate communication with
the city in which the component university is located, the surplus wastewater capacity to
be used in future construction programs by all component universities of the System.
2. POLICY
2.1. Wastewater capacity accumulated as a result of any building demolition shall be
retained for university­wide use in new construction or renovation of all System
facilities.
2.2. Plant Operations shall be responsible for assuring that appropriate applications
and notices are prepared in a timely manner. Any charges by the City of Houston
or other agencies involved in this activity will become part of the project cost.
3. REVIEW AND RESPONSIBILITY
Responsible Party: Associate Vice Chancellor for Plant Operations
Review: Every three years, on or before December 1
