Salesin Named Presidential Fellow

Presidential Fellow
President Clinton has named Assistant
Professor David Salesin as a Presidential
Faculty Fellow. The award, which rec-
ognizes young professors for excellence
and promise in both research and teach-
ing, carries with it a National Science
Foundation grant for $100,000 per year
for five years. Salesin is a computer
graphics expert.
The PFF is extraordinarily competitive.
Only 30 professors were selected in 1995
from all areas of US science and engi-
neering, and of those only two were
computer scientists. Salesin is UW's
Bershad who received a PFF in 1994.
Salesin's talent has impressed everyone.
