| Description/Abstract | The Loss-of-Fluid Test (LOFT) Power Range Testing program brought the world's only large integral nuclear blowdown test facility from 0 to 100% power for the first time. The program was short, only 49 days from heatup to final scram. It was relatively trouble-free; the only significant problems were water hammers in the air-cooled condenser following scrams. The startup program, techniques for determining primary and secondary side natural circulation, and the water hammers are discussed. |
