| Description/Abstract | It is shown that grain boundaries are quasiperiodic tillings made of inflatable sequences of structural units. A general grain boundary is a quasiperiodic grid of dislocations with the same inflation multiplier (a quadratic irrational) in every direction. 12 refs., 7 figs. |
