Characteristics of a MHD generator operating away from its nominal conditions: The R1 channel in the U-25 plant

The characteristics of the R1 frame MHD channel are considered. The analysis is based on combining the data obtained with the u-25 plant with simulation data. The results describe the MHD characteristic over a wide range of working conditions and for various degrees of electrode-wall degradation. To obtain additional information on the local parameters, use has been made of the differential voltage-current characteristics, which have been used in analyzing the effects of various factors on the calculated electrodynamic parameters.
