Description/AbstractThe Fuel Use Act (FUA) prohibits the use of petroleum and natural gas for certain power plants. FUA authorizes DOE to prohibit use of gas/oil by other power plants and installations. This program was conducted to investigate technical and cost considerations to support DOE's administration of FUA and includes: operation and maintenance; nonboilers in the petroleum refinery, petrochemical, foundries, grain drying, and brick/clay industries; causes and magnitude of derates in combustors due to fuel conversion; fluidized bed boiler; and assessment of alternate fuels and of progress in cutting gas/oil consumption.
