A STUDY OF /cap beta/ SCINTILLATION COUNTING WITH PLASTIC PHOSPHORS

Description/Abstract

A high-efficiency beta counter is described which is basod on a thin plastic scintillator as the detector. Its major advantage is a background of less than 0.5 cpm without anticoincidence. The same basic system may be convented for alpha counting by substitution of ZnS on Mylar as the phosphor. (auth)
