DescriptionThis collection of data resides in the GeoSpatial Data Systems arm of the Energy and Geoscience Institute at the University of Utah. In addition to data from its own geothermal, petroleum, and urban ecosystem research, the group houses many geospatial data sets generated by DOE sponsored research for the Geothermal Energy Program. Both raster and vector data are available, and the website recommends that users download a free ArcExplorer data viewer. The recommended tool allows users to view ShapeFiles, ArcInfo Coverages, and even to create their own maps with the data. Other information about how to view and use the GIS data is also provided, along with detailed, specialized metadata.
