DescriptionThe Human Genome Landmarks Poster has become a well-known resource to students and researchers of the Human Genome Project. It lists genes, traits, and disorders associated with each of the 24 different human chromosomes. The Gene Gateway at http://www.ornl.gov/sci/techresources/Human_Genome/posters/chromosome/index.shtmlwas originally created to be a web companion to the poster. It presents each of the 24 chromosome images as an individual images that can be enlarged the embedded viewer. Now, however, the website offers much more than an expanded view of the poster; it is designed to help the user find, understand, and utilize the important web resources that make data on human genetic disorders available to the public. The following guides and tools are available on the Gene Gateway:
  • Gene Gateway Workbook
  • Gene and Protein Database Guide
  • Genetic Disorder Guide
  • Sample Profiles of Genes and Genetic Disorders
  • Genome and Bioinformatics Glossaries
