Benefits of an integrated setpoint control program
PECO is implementing a fully integrated improved instrument set-point control program (IISCP) at Limerick generating station and Peach Bottom atomic power station. There are numerous benefits to implementing a setpoint control program. These benefits can be further enhanced with the appropriate use of information systems resources. Improved configuration control, improved documentation, improved use of resources, and quicker processing of setpoint change requests and other activities are major benefits realized. Setpoint changes, resolution of station operating and design issues and regulatory concerns, and the implementation of station performance improvement initiatives can be more efficiently and effectively processed. Operations, engineering, and maintenance activities that affect the bases for the station`s instrument setpoints are focused on maintaining plant safety and reliability in a cost-effective manner.
