Part one is a general discussion on delivery systems, stacking and reclaiming, and bulk storage. Part two is a general description of required operations in which the automatic coal handling system has many unusual control features providing reliable service and minimum maintenance throughout its years of service. Some of these features include bin level sensors; analog loop controls or programmable controllers which control the system either locally or from a remote location; the controls associated with the stacker reclaimer system; conveyor controls, and safety devices such as pull switches, fire detection, broken belt monitoring and bunker fire detection controls.
