TITAN I/Sandia launch vehicle parametric study. Final report. [Flight testing of SNAP batteries]
Technical Report
·
OSTI ID:7348386
Results of parametric studies are reported to determine potential use of TITAN I ballistic missiles for use as a launch vehicle for flight testing inert prototype nuclear auxiliary power sources (SNAP). Guideline parameters were drawn to determine the payload weight range, reentry angle range, reentry velocity range, and reentry attitude capability for suborbital ballistic missions to selected targets on the Air Force Western Test Range. The target areas selected are Hawaii, Johnston Island, Kwajalein Atoll, and Woomera, Australia, with launches from Vandenberg AFB.
