A high temperature turbine engine is described which includes a hybrid ceramic/metallic fastener (bolt). The fastener includes a headed ceramic shank carrying a metallic end termination fitting. A conventional cap screw threadably engages the termination fitting to apply tensile force to the fastener. 5 figures.
