Evaluation of the bolting and flanges of ANSI B16. 5 flanged joints: ASME Part A design rules
An objective of the report presented is to develop relatively simple but conservative methods of evaluating the adequacy of piping products used in Code Class-1, Class-2, and Class-3 piping systems. The rather extensive and detailed evaluations of ANSI B16.5 flanged joints provide the basis for the relatively simple equations developed. These simple equations are then inluded in the form of recommended revisions to the Code.
