Title: Growth induced magnetic anisotropy in crystalline and amorphous thin films. Annual progress report, November 1, 1997--October 31, 1998

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:7169926

The work in the past 6 months has involved three areas of magnetic thin films: (1) amorphous rare earth-transition metal alloys, (2) epitaxial Co-Pt and Ni-Pt alloy thin films, and (3) collaborative work on heat capacity measurements of magnetic thin films, including nanoparticles and CMR materials. Summaries of research in each of these areas is given.
