The QCD Born approximation is used to calculate the odderon amplitude for {ital KN} scattering. Absorptive corrections to the Born amplitude are taken into account in the quasi-eikonal model. Calculations are performed for the case of a spherically symmetric nucleon and for a nucleon with a compact scalar {ital ud} diquark. The results are not very sensitive to the quark-diquark structure of the nucleon. The contribution of the effective odderon exchange, which takes into account screening from Pomeron exchange, to the amplitude for coherent regeneration of {ital K}{sub {ital S}} mesons on nucleons does not exceed {similar to}30% of the {omega}-Reggeon contribution for {ital p}{sub lab} {approx lt}1 TeV/{ital c}. In the case of the diffraction process {ital K}{sub {ital L}}{ital p}{r arrow}{ital K}{sub {ital S}}{ital p}, odderon exchange gives the main contribution to {ital d}{sigma}/{ital dt} at {vert bar}{ital t}{vert bar}{approx gt}1 (GeV/{ital c}){sup 2} already for {ital p}{sub lab} {similar to}50--200 GeV/{ital c}. It is predicted that there is an abrupt change of the {ital t} dependence of the differential cross section at these energies.
