Temperature set point control for a refrigerator
This patent describes a temperature set point control for a refrigerator having at least one compartment and cooling apparatus for causing the temperature within the compartment to approach a set point temperature comprising: a register for storing a value corresponding to a set point temperature; means coupled to the register for selecting one of a plurality of selectable values for storage in the register corresponding to a desired set point temperature to implement a manual code of operation; a series of indicators individually energizable to indicate the mode of operation; a display which indicates the values stored in the register; and means coupled to the indicators and display for causing same to selectively indicate the value stored in the register and the mode of operation. The selecting means includes keys for enabling a user to establish the value stored in the register including a compartment temperature key and a set temperature key. The causing means includes means for operating the display whereby it indicates the compartment temperature when the compartment temperature key is pressed alone and the value stored in the register when the compartment temperature key and the set temperature keys are actuated within a predetermined time of each other.
