The purpose of this paper was to determine the workability of activated sludge as a raw material for vitamins and animal feeds and as a polyelectrolytic flocculant for the treatment of waste water. To these ends the authors have conducted viscosity and phase studies, experimentally and mathematically, for the liquid and solid components of an activated sewage sludge suspension taken from the aeration tanks of a municipal aeration plant. Temperature and concentration dependencies are graphed.
