C. A. La Electricidad de Caracas Tecnoconsult, generation-expansion feasibility study. Phase 2. Preliminary engineering report. Export trade information
C.A. La Electricidad de Caracas (E.de C.) is a private company which in 1991 served some 830,000 customers in an area of 4,160 square kilometers surrounding Caracas. A program is underway for upgrading equipment and expanding the capacity of several of its existing generating facilities. The study considers the possible construction of new generating facilities using several alternative thermal cycles at three different E.de C. owned sites at Tacoa, Puerto Cruz and Curupao. The preferred site and configuration recommended is at Curupao and includes two 450 MW combined cycle natural gas fired gas-turbine-HRSG-steam-turbine generation trains and two simple cycle natural gas fired 150 MW gas turbine generator sets for a total of 1,200 MW.
