Three-dimensional discrete ordinates neutronics calculations are becoming practical. This paper compares TORT and THREEDANT on some typical neutron/gamma shielding problems. This comparison is preliminary because both codes are still evolving. Comparisons were carried out on a Los Alamos Cray-YMP supercomputer, although both codes can run on smaller computers. Versions 1.3.5 of TORT and the current developmental version of THREEDANT were used. 6 refs., 2 tabs.
