Title: Models for calculation fluid flow in randomly generated three-dimensional networks of disc-shaped fractures: Users' manuals and listings for FMG3D, DISCEL, and DIMES

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:6933448

The purpose of this report is to provide the user with sufficient information to run the three programs FDG3D, DISCEL and DIMES. A previous report explained the theory and design of the programs (Models for Calculating Fluid Flow in Randomly Generated Three-Dimensional Networks of Disc-Shaped Fractures). Using the two reports, a thorough understanding of the codes is possible. This report should familiarize the user with program options and modes of operation, input variables, input and output files, and program warning and error stops. In addition, information not strictly needed to run the programs, but useful in understanding the internal structure and flow is provided in appendices. The appendices cover program variables and arrays, subroutines outlines, a short description of each subroutine, and finally listings of the codes. The additional information on FMG3D, DISCEL, and DIMES is in Appendices A, C and E respectively, and the listings are in Appendices B, D, and F. The codes are written in FORTRAN-77 for use on VAX computers. Large arrays are dimensioned by constants set in ''parameter'' statements. An ''include'' statement is used to insert an overall maximum dimensioning parameter statement in each main program and appropriate subroutine. For each program, the allowable problem size, controlled by the maximum number of fractures, nodes, etc., can be changed simply by editing the included parameter statement. Common blocks are also inserted in the code by include statements. Preceding each FORTRAN listing is a list of the files, maximum dimensions and common blocks, that are included by the programs.
