Currently there are nineteen operating municipal and institutional type geothermal district heating systems and six under construction in the US. A recent symposium of operating geothermal district heating systems at Oregon Institute of Technology provided an exchange of information and operating experiences on seven US and two foreign systems. Several of these systems are described. They are located in Boise, Idaho; Klamath Falls, Oregon; Philip, South Dakota; San Bernardino, California; Susanville, California. 9 references.
