The equations were developed to describe adsorption from multicomponent ideal liquid systems on homogeneous or heterogeneous solid surfaces yielded predictions of the adsorbed-surface-phase composition that agreed satisfactorily with experimental data for the n-heptane/cyclohexane/benzene, n-heptane/cyclohexane/toluene, and n-heptane/cyclohexane/p-xylene ternaries on silica gel at 20/sup 0/C.
