The algorithm of neutron spectra approximation by orthogonal generalized Chebyshev-Laguerre polynomials was worked out; the weighting function is presented by gamma-distribution with arbitrary form parameter value. It is shown that the usage of 3-6 free parameters is enough for the adequate presentation of {sup 252}Cf spontaneous fission neutron spectrum in the energy range 0.001 < E < 20 MeV; viz. the form parameter alpha, equal 0.500 {+-} 0.002 and coefficients at first Chebyshev-Laguerre polynomials. The temperature T = 1.367 {+-} 0.002 MeV, being the scale parameter is determined by spectrum characteristics; i.e. by mean value and mode.
