The total deposition of /sup 90/Sr on the surface of the earth during 1982 was 0.7 PBq. This is the lowest total yearly deposit since the initiation of the Environmental Measurements Laboratory's global fallout program in the late 1950's. The worldwide cumulative deposit decreased to about 374.0 PBq. The last reported nuclear detonation in the atmosphere occurred at the Lop Nor test site in China on October 16, 1980. 12 references, 9 figures, 9 tables.
