An experiment has been performed to search for the muon- and electron-number nonconserving decay [mu][sup +][r arrow]e[sup +][gamma] . The upper limit for the branching ratio is found to be [Gamma]([mu][sup +][r arrow]e[sup +][gamma] ) /[Gamma]([mu][sup +][r arrow]e[sup +][nu] [bar [nu]])[lt]1.2[times]10[sup [minus]11] with 90[percent] confidence.
