Title: Physical protection of nuclear facilities quarterly progress report, April--June, 1978. [PWR; BWR]

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:6388038

Facility characterization activities during the third quarter of FY78 concentrated on the development and application of generic sabotage fault tree (GSFT) techniques for nuclear power reactors. Specific facility analyses have been performed on four pressurized water reactors (PWRs) in a joint effort with Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory (LASL) and Sandia Laboratories for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation (NRC/NRR). In addition to the work on sabotage fault trees, several subtrees have been prepared for various subsystems of light water reactors (LWRs). Support work continues on the characterization of the Standardized Nuclear Unit Power Plant System (SNUPPS) for the Nuclear Power Plant Design Concepts for Sabotage Protection program. Improvements continue to be made to pathfinding algorithms designed to identify minimum-time theft paths in facility graphs and shortest adversary paths for sparse graphs.
