Gas-liquid equilibrium in the binary systems H/sub 2//quinoline and H/sub 2//thianaphthene

Studies of gas/liquid equilibria at Purdue University important for coal liquefaction processes have been extended to hydrocarbons containing hetero-atoms with the determination of gas/liquid equilibria data for the hydrogen/quinoline and hydrogen/thianaphthene binary systems at four temperatures from 190/sup 0/C to 430/sup 0/C and at seven pressures from 20 atm to 250 atm. The new data are compared with general correlations that have been developed for hydrocarbon solvents. The experimental apparatus, materials, procedure, and results are discussed. 12 references.
