Title: Petroleum developments in Middle East countries in 1977

Petroleum production in Middle East countries totaled 8,099,962,000 bbl at an average rate of 22,192,000 b/d, up 1.33% from 1976. Principle increases were in Abu Dhabi and Saudi Arabia; main decreases were in Divided Neutral Zone, Iraq, Kuwait, and Qatar. There were significant new discoveries in Iran, Oman, Ras al Khaimah, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey. New areas were explored in Iran, Oman, offshore from Fujairah's east coast, and offshore South Yemen. Exploration in deeper stratigraphic sections was conducted in Iran and Saudi Arabia. 11 figures, 26 tables.
