Title: Phase transitions and the morphotropical range in (Pb/sub 1-x/Ba/sub x/)/sub 2/NaNb/sub 5/O/sub 15/ solid solutions with the tetragonal tungsten-bronze structure

Phase transitions in the solid solutions ((Pb/sub 1-x/Ba/sub x/)/sub 2/NaNb/sub 5/O/sub 15/) with tetragonal tungsten-bronze structure are studied and the subsolidus phase diagram is constructed. It was established that the two-phase region in the equilibrium phase diagram is caused by the decomposition of the solid solution to the paraelectric phase. The width of the morphotropic range is determined by the technological inhomogeneities in the ceramic composition as well as the depth of the decomposition of the solid solutions. The crystallographic orientation of the polar direction in the solid solutions affects the nature of the anisotropy of the thermal expansion and dielectric constant of the textures.
