Asymmetric connection treatment of the Einstein-Maxwell field equations

Scalar densities which are concomitants of an asymmetric tensor of covariant valency 2, an asymmetric connection and its derivative, are examined in an effort to obtain the Einstein-Maxwell field equations from a variational principle based on such a Lagrangian. A particular Lagrangian is found that yields the desired result. In the process of the construction we are forced to identify the torsion vector with the electromagnetic potential.
