Splash lubricated over head valve engine
This patent describes a splash lubricated over head valve engine consisting of a number of components which function integrally together. The first component is a cylinder having a cylinder head, and closely associated with this cylinder is the second member - the rocker chamber. This chamber, as characterized for the described system, has a number of rocker arms and is positioned on a first side of the cylinder. Likewise, an inlet valve and outlet valve located on the first side of the rocker chamber are represented. A crank case structure is also indicated as playing a role in the engine. Equally important is a breather chamber having an inlet means and described as being connected to the rocker chamber via the outlet means and located on a second side of the chamber. A gas inducing passage having an outlet means and relatedly an oil return passage both connecting the rocker chamber to the crank case are the final components of the engine. The positioning of outlet means of the gas inducing passage and the inlet means of the breather chamber in relation to each other is such that blow-by gas flows along a line from the outlet means through the rocker chamber to the inlet means traversing the rocker arms.
