Title: America's wetlands: Our vital link between land and water

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:6003366

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), in partnership with state and local governments, is responsible for restoring and maintaining the chemical, physical, and biological integrity of the nation's waters. Because of the value of wetlands as an integral part of those waters, EPA is also charged with protecting wetland resources. To provide leadership in building such a broad-based national effort, EPA established an Office of Wetlands Protection in 1986. Reading the booklet will give you a better understanding of the importance of wetlands, how they are threatened, and what can be done to conserve them for future generations.
