Title: Support studies in fluidized-bed combustion. Quarterly report, January-March 1979

Technical Report ·
DOI:https://doi.org/10.2172/5989705· OSTI ID:5989705

This work supports the development studies for atmospheric and pressurized fluidized-bed coal combustion. Laboratory and process development studies are aimed at providing needed information on limestone utilization, control of emission of alkali metal compounds and SO/sub 2/, particulate loadings of flue gas, and other aspects of fluidized-bed coal combustion. This report presents information on: the removal of gaseous alkali metal compounds from hot flue gas using granular sorbents, results of tests of the efficiency of a commercial high-efficiency cyclone (TAN-JET), information on particulate emissions from FBCs, and the effect of CaCl/sub 2/ and Na/sub 2/CO/sub 3/ on the sulfation of limestone.
