Measurement of the lifetimes of the charmed D/sup +/, D/sup 0/ and F/sup +/ mesons and. lambda. /sub c//sup +/ charmed baryon

Recent results from a hybrid emulsion experiment in the Fermilab wide-band neutrino beam of the measurement of the life-times of the charmed D/sup +/, D/sup 0/ and F/sup +/ mesons and ..lambda../sub c//sup +/ charmed baryon are presented. Fermilab Experiment 531 uses a hybrid emulsion spectrometer to measure the lifetimes of short-lived particles produced in neutrino interactions. The lifetime results presented here are from the first exposure, based on a fitted sample of 11 D/sup +/, 19 D/sup 0/, 3 F/sup +/ and 8 ..lambda../sub c//sup +/ decays. A second larger exposure with an improved spectrometer is presently being analyzed and will eventually increase our sample by an additional factor of 2.5.
