This patent describes a process of forming a superconductive metal matrix composite. It comprises preparing a superconductive ceramic material into a particulate; adding a powdered metal material to the particulate; mixing the superconductive particulate with the metal material; uniaxially cold dry pressing the mixture in a die followed hot pressing to a pressure of about 5,100 psi; heating the die to about 385 C. in about ten minutes while the pressure in the die is allowed to rise to about 6,900 psi; holding that temperature for a period of about 40 minutes followed by rapid cooling to room temperature.
