This text is a reprint volume belonging to the Treatise of Petroleum Geology and was prepared to be a useful tool in petroleum exploration and development. This volume is divided into three sections which discuss extensional deformation, compressional deformation, and salt tectonics. The extensional deformation section contains papers that discuss listric normal and growth faulting. Compressional deformation contains papers on the processes and mechanics of low-angle thrust faulting. Salt tectonics is a collection of papers on salt movement, salt dissolution, and the subsequent effect on the structural geometry of associated strata.
