The comparative analysis of ac and dc for application to the Nelson River was carried out under three basic headings with stress as to the results being assigned in the order listed, e.g., reliability, economics, and flexibility. The analysis conducted established that hvdc is admirably suited to the particular requirements of the Nelson River and for introduction to the Manitoba power scene.
