To estimate the hydrodynamic forces acting on ocean structures, the problem of inter-action among an assembly of cylinders. fixed in both waves and current is considered. The problem is linearized by a perturbation method based on the assumption of small current velocity and linear wave theory. The interaction among cylinders is represented by waves emitted from adjacent cylinders towards the cylinder under consideration. Different from previous works, the cylinders are not necessary to be mounted to the sea bottom. Therefore, the interaction between scattered evanescent waves and propagating waves has to be taken into account. The effect of steady disturbance potential is also included in the present work and a special treatment is suggested to deal with this effect. Hydrodynamic forces including the wave drift damping are evaluated by integrating the hydrodynamic pressure over the wetted surface of the cylinders. Some numerical examples are calculated and compared with existing results.
