We present a coherent analysis of Higgs-boson production in the channels {ital pp}{r arrow}{ital ZZX}{r arrow}{ital l}{sup +}{ital l{minus}}{ital l} {prime}{sup +}{ital l} {prime}{sup {minus}}{ital X} ({ital l},{ital l} {prime}={ital e},{mu}) and {ital pp}{r arrow}{ital ZZX}{r arrow}{ital l}{sup +}{ital l{minus}}{nu}{bar {nu}}{ital X} ({nu}={nu}{sub {ital e}},{nu}{sub {mu}},{nu}{sub {tau}}) for {ital m}{sub {ital H}}{ge}600 GeV at hadron supercolliders, using the exact matrix elements for {ital gg}{r arrow}{ital ZZ} and {ital qq}{r arrow}{ital qqZZ}. The importance of a complete understanding of the shape of the perturbative {ital pp}{r arrow}{ital ZZX} background from nonresonant diagrams is emphasized. We find that for the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) to have a Higgs-boson discovery potential comparable to that of the Superconducting Super Collider (SSC) requires at least a factor of 10 times more integrated luminosity. In particular, assuming an integrated luminosity of 10{sup 4} pb{sup {minus}1} and perfect lepton identification efficiency, the LHC (SSC) can identify Higgs bosons as resonances with mass up to 600 (800) GeV in {ital pp}{r arrow}{ital ZZX}{r arrow}{ital l}{sup +}{ital l{minus}}{ital l}{prime}{sup +}{ital l}{prime}{sup {minus}}{ital X}. To extend the discovery range of the LHC to {ital m}{sub {ital H}}=800 GeV in this channel requires an integrated luminosity of at least 10{sup 5} pb{sup {minus}1}. For {ital m}{sub {ital H}}{gt}800 GeV, a clear resonance structure is missing; however, one can still discriminate between a heavy Higgs boson with {ital m}{sub {ital H}}{similar to}1 TeV and a light Higgs boson ({ital m}{sub {ital H}}{approx lt}2{ital M}{sub {ital z}}) at the SSC.
