Title: Hunton geology of the Star-Lacey field, Blaine and Kingfisher Counties, Oklahoma

Journal Article · · Shale Shaker; (United States)
OSTI ID:5518562

The Star-Lacey Area is an example of the type, size, and quality of stratigraphic trap reservoirs that occur in this part of the Anadarko Basin. The top of the Hunton is an eroded surface with topographic relief that can effect structure maps drawn on this horizon. The thickness of zones within the Hunton Group varies throughout the area. These variations are not related to post-Hunton erosion. There is evidence that several unconformities exist within rocks of the Hunton Group. Porous dolomite occurs in the Hunton Group at all stratigraphic levels. The porous dolomite in the Chimneyhill Formation may be a zone where porosity formed over structurally high or topographically high areas. By using these factors and all available well control to make detailed subsurface studies of the Hunton, interpretations can be made that should lead to the discovery of additional prolific Hunton oil and gas fields in this vicinity.
