Title: Derivation of technology specific effects of the use of oxygenated fuel blends on motor-vehicle exhaust emissions. Technical report

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:5444191

This report is a supporting document to the report, 'Guidance on estimating motor vehicle emission reductions from the use of alternative fuels and fuel blends.' It presents the data and calculations used to estimate the effects of gasoline/oxygenate fuel blends on vehicle exhaust emissions. Data were gathered from several studies of fuel blends, and include tests of blends with methanol, ethanol, tert-butyl alcohol, and MTBE. Effects are calculated separately for vehicles with different emission-control technology. The report discusses exhaust emissions of hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide, and oxides of nitrogen.
