Six witnesses spoke at this hearing held to discuss the proposed $250 million budget for the Clinch River Breeder Reactor (CRBR), the largest nonmilitary increase in the proposed 1982 budget. Witnesses were asked to focus on the CRBR's status and costs rather than its merits, and to address administration proposals to accelerate licensing and the possible expense of health and safety considerations. The committee also asked for comments on bid cancellations and the loss of certain records. The witnesses included DOE officials and CRBR program managers.
