This paper obtains in the whistler frequency range WKB solutions for a weakly inhomogeneous magnetoactive plasma. Exact solutions of Maxwell's equations for a homogeneous magnetoactive plasma are obtained on all three cylindrical coordinates. The solutions are used for the analysis of waveguide propagation of whistlers in axisymmetric ducts with enhanced density. Estimates of the number of modes and an expression for the cutoff frequency, which depends on the harmonic number associated with the azimuth angle, are obtained for weak ducts with a typical electron density profile.
