Implementation plan revisions for nonattainment areas in California; receipt/availability
The US Environmental Protection Agency has received revisions to the California State Implementation Plan, which include nonattainment area plans for Fresno, Kern, Kings, Madera, Merced, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, Tulare, and Imperial Counties. The entire eight-county San Joaquin Valley Air Basin has not attained the National Ambient Air Quality Standards for total suspended particulates and for ozone as required by the amended Clean Air Act of 1977. Fresno, Kern, San Joaquin, and Stanislaus counties have not attained the carbon monoxide standard. Kern and Imperial counties are designated nonattainment for sulfur dioxide and for ozone, respectively. The revisions submitted by the California Air Resources Board are available for public inspection. Comments may be filed until 60 days or more after 12/4/79 and 30 days or more after the proposed rulemaking dates which are to be announced.
