The general aim of this research is to establish an experimental basis for developing mass spectrometric methods to detect and identify dosimetric indicators of human exposure to polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH). The specific analytical goal is to evolve one or more methods capable of detecting PAH-adducted nucleosides or nucleotides without unduly sacrificing the qualitative specificity of the mass spectrometry. 2 figs.
