Title: Interference correlations of identical particles in models with closely spaced sources

It is shown that the formulas for the interference correlations of pairs of identical pions with similar momenta which have been obtained in a number of studies using the coherent-state technique are limiting cases of more general expressions which essentially follow from the simpler idea of independent single-particle sources.
