SOURCE OF ERROR IN NEUTRON PERSONNEL DOSIMETRY WITH NUCLEAR TRACK EMULSION (in German)
The accuracy of the neutron rem dose determination by nuclear track emulsion techniques in personnel dosimetry in the case of the most used Kodak NTA, Type A, emulsion between 0.02 and 20 rem and 0.6 and 20 Mev hardly depends on the directional dependence of the film, subjective counting errors besides, if the gamma dose does not exceed 5 to 10 r, neither on the fog granularity. The influence of less exact calibration and energy dependence of the neutron sensitivity as well as the orientation of the dosimeter to the neutron source and the human body and the fading effects are more serious. The fading is studied as a function of relative humidity at 20 deg C and it is found, that in high relative humidity after several days, nuclear tracks are no more countable. Suitable packing of the film can reduce this effect. One should take care of the evaluation of neutron dose measurements. (auth)
