The electron spin resonance (ESR) spectra of single crystals of KH2 PO4 and KD2PO4 irradiated with 50-kv x rays were studied. The data for the two compounds were found to be nearly the same, except that in the case of KD2PO4 the lines were narrower by a factor of 2, the total spectrum was slightly narrower, and a low-intensity almost isotropic doublet with a splitting of 29G was observed. The centers were stable at 77 deg K but were found to disappear after 30 min at 130 and 160 deg K for KH2PO4 and KD2PO respectively.
