Characteristic features of hydrothermal mineralization in a uranium deposit located in a secondary quartzite massif (in Russian)
Uranite sulfide ore manifestations are confined to a line of volcanic structures and are closely related to the subvolcanic rock of liparite formation. They are found in the peripheral part of the secondary quartzite massif. Unlike known industrial deposits of Mo-U ore, formations on ore-bearing areas are developed secondary quartzes of an early mineralization stage and with the appearance of hematitization of the rock, accompanied by relatively high U, Th, Zr, and rare eanth contents. This mineralization is in the independent stage, preceding the uraniumsulfide mineralization and separate from the earlier secondary quartzite with internal felsitic, laparitic, and spherulitic porphries and eruptive brecchias. Impregnated uranite-pitchblende sulfide ores are formed by a metasomatic route, in which there is a markedly favorable effect on ore deposition of hydrothermal quartz-sericitic metasomatites of different stages and pre-ore beresites.
